She is a founding partner of SINMETRO and is responsible for the areas of strategic management consulting, process optimization and training, and is also coordinating R&DT projects, innovation and process reengineering. Mother of three children and loves Trail Running.
Cristina Barros has more than 20 years of experience in direct contact with the industry, having carried out information systems development, consulting, and training projects in the food, pharmaceutical, automotive, molds & plastics, electronics, aeronautics, mobility, chemical, textile, software, and e-commerce sectors, among others.
She has participated in the conception & development of strategic & operational management projects, productive innovation and R&DT, which aim at the creation of new products, processes and services or reengineering through digital transformation and Lean & 6 Sigma methodologies.
Since 1999, Cristina Barros has dedicated her career to the study of industrial processes, of the most diverse natures, and ways to optimize them. In this sense, she seeks to idealize information systems that integrate supply chains, communicate with machines and equipment, to allow the acquisition of data in real time, evaluate the most appropriate modus operandi, to ensure the traceability and indexing of data, and the best techniques for statistical treatment of a large number of data (Big Data) collected in real time.
Due to her experience, she was invited to join the automotive work groups (including Molds) and Tourism of the national initiative i4.0 and the “Axis 3: Qualification” of the national initiative INCoDe.2030, created to stimulate and guarantee the development of digital skills as instruments to support the preparation of new generations for the “unknown”, waging on the ability to create new jobs – more qualified and with better income.
She is founding partner and manager of two successful SMEs, SINMETRO and Aferymed, as well as a start-up, Gugga.
Since 2000, Cristina Barros is a specialist professor in Industrial Engineering and Management at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (IPLeiria). She coordinates the Executive Training unit and the Post-graduate courses in 6 Sigma at Black Belt level and Online Business Management.
Certified in Six Sigma Black Belt in 2007, she has also coordinated several projects in this area.
She has a degree in Chemical Engineering, a Master’s Degree in Instrumentation, Industrial Maintenance and Quality and has successfully completed the PAGE course – Advanced Program for Executive Management at Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
