She is a founding partner of SINMETRO and responsible for the areas of strategic management consultancy, process optimization and training and is also coordinating R&DT, innovation and process reengineering projects. She is the mother of three children and loves Trail Running.

Biography

Cristina Barros has more than 19 years of experience in direct contact with the industry, having carried out development of information systems projects, consultancy and training in the food, pharmaceutical, automotive, molds & plastics, electronics, aeronautics, mobility, chemistry, textiles, software, e-commerce sectors, among others.

 

She has participated in the conception & development of strategic & operational management projects, productive innovation and R&DT, which aim at creating new products, processes and services or reengineering resourcing to digital transformation and Lean & 6 Sigma methodologies.

 

Since 1999, he is dedicated to studying industrial processes, of the most diverse natures and how they can be optimized, designing information systems that integrate the supply chains, communicate with machines and equipment, to allow the data acquisition in real time, evaluating the most appropriate modus operandi to ensure data traceability and indexing, as well as the best techniques for statistical treatment of a large number of data (Big Data) collected in real time.

 

Due to her experience, she was invited to join the automotive work groups (including Molds) and Tourism of the national initiative i4.0 and the “Axis 3: Qualification” of the national initiative INCoDe.2030, created to stimulate and guarantee the development of digital skills as instruments to support the preparation of new generations for the “unknown”, waging on the ability to create new jobs – more qualified and with better income.

 

She is a founding partner and manager of two successful SMEs, SINMETRO and Aferymed and a start-up, Gugga.

Since 2000, she is a specialist professor in Engineering and Industrial Management at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (IPLeiria), where she coordinates the Executive Training unit and the postgraduate courses in 6 Sigma at Black Belt Level and Online Business Management.

 

Since 2007, she has been certified in Six Sigma Black Belt and has coordinated numerous projects in this area.

 

She has a degree in Chemical Engineering, a Master’s Degree in Instrumentation, Industrial Maintenance and Quality and has successfully completed the PAGE course – Advanced Program for Executive Management at Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
